Hudsons Malamutes - Tawnie
Tawnie
is a beautiful, large
black/white malamute

Tawnie is a sweet, beautiful girl that I've had my eye on for some time, and now she's here at Hudson's! She has a great old line Wakon pedigree.
Tawnie is sled trained (see photo below). Snow photos kind courtesy of Jamie Hughes, thank you, Jamie!
Tawnie is ONE OF THE LAST TRUE "OLD" Giant Lines !!! She is another example of extinction of a bloodline. Tawnie's granddad is the famous Wakon's Moose. Tawnie's dad is Boaz...   She is one of the last of this bloodline in the U.S. today. Her grandparents are the icon of the giant malamute breed and the pictures that everyone thinks of when you think "Giant Malamute" - but there are few of the old style true Giant Malamute lines left.
We are working here at Hudson's to preserve this Old Style Giant Line. With keeping genetically sound - outcrossed lines to preserve the health and temperament and the true size that a malamute should be. Please see my FAQ page for more information about Inbreeding/Linebreeding. This will give you more information on why outcrossing and genetically sound lines are most important to preserving this great breed. And what Hudson's is doing to preserve the Old Style Giant Lines.
